Belmont Harbor serves as the ideal racing location for the Chicago Match Race Center and the lakeshore's bleacher-style break wall provides convenient shore viewing for spectators. The center's clubhouse is located in the north part of the harbor making for a short sail to the race course. After sailing, debriefs and seminars will be held in the clubhouse.

Exciting to participate in and watch, there is no better way to raise your game than a one-on-one fight to the finish. Match racing requires the fundamentals of a fleet racer, the tactics of a chess master, and the teamwork of a Nascar pit crew. In less than twenty minutes teams will have completed a boxing match-like pre-start, two spinnaker sets and douses, and enough tacks and gybes to tire a marathon runner. Participating in match racing will improve all aspects of your sailing.
Found in the Americas Cup, the World Match Race Tour, and in the 2012 Olympic Games many of the best sailors in the world are found match racing. Now thanks to centers like CMRC that are opening across the United States, any sailor looking for a new challenge can get involved.
The Chicago Match Race Center was founded to bring world class match racing to the shores of Lake Michigan. Utilizing its fleet of Tom 28 sailboats and Elliot 6 meters the Center plays host to numerous regattas, clinics, and nightly training sessions throughout the year. In 2014 CMRC will host the only US Stop of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour, co-host the US Match Racing Grand Slam, and round out the season with 5 Grade 3 events.
